De Groene Menukaart: Sustainable Solutions for Historic Buildings
Mission: To empower owners and users of historic buildings, monuments, and protected areas to embrace energy efficiency and sustainability.
Vision: To be the central starting point for making monuments future-proof, demonstrating that sustainable practices are achievable for all historic structures.
History: De Groene Menukaart is an initiative of De Groene Grachten, founded in 2012 by Wubbo Ockels and Suze Gehem. The founding principle was that if monuments can be made sustainable, then it's possible everywhere. De Groene Menukaart was created to share the knowledge and experience of De Groene Grachten, a multidisciplinary team of DuMo advisors and process facilitators, with the wider public.
Core Purpose: To provide a comprehensive platform offering knowledge, practical guidance, and resources to facilitate the sustainable renovation and management of historic buildings. This includes:
* Information Hub: Offering answers to common questions about sustainable practices for historic buildings, such as installing solar panels, addressing moisture issues, and utilizing heat pumps.
* Actionable Insights: Providing a starting point for owners and users of historic buildings to develop sustainable plans, including information on over 100 sustainable measures.
* Resource Aggregation: Offering insights into sustainable opportunities, relevant regulations, and available subsidies and financing options.
* Collaboration: Partnering with municipalities, the Nationaal Restauratiefonds, and other organizations to provide up-to-date information and support.
* Expertise Sharing: Sharing the expertise of De Groene Grachten, including advice on topics like insulating monument glass, creating healthy indoor climates, and developing climate-resilient outdoor spaces.
